Increase blog traffic with Entrecard
January 12, 2008 @ 2:39 am · Filed under Traffic

I recently just heard of Entrecard after reading an interview somewhere online. The site is a great place to get traffic to your web blog. Basically it is sort of an exchange system where you get to exchange 125×125 advertisements with other Entrecard users. You accumulate “credits” and as your site gets larger, you will earn more credits every time someone wishes to advertise on your site. There’s a few other aspects to it as well.

Anyways, I thought I made a pretty good Entrecard banner. It’s not graphical or cool, but it does have Misa Campo on it.

To end the post, I’ll just link you to some hot Misa Campo images. You guys probably have heard of this chick. If not, then visit my link above to find out who she is. My blog definitely needs to be sexed up a little right? Yeah, how else will I get any visitors?

StumbleUpon is a traffic beast

Stumbleupon is seriously amazing. Wow. If you haven’t tried actively stumbling your sites, then you don’t know what you’ve been missing. The following images represent how much traffic I got SOLELY from StumbleUpon. And I didn’t spend a lot of time either (only getting 3 stumbles on picture one and only stumbling the site MYSELF on the 2nd picture)

I’m not sure how long this kind of traffic will last. But I like that the traffic has increased by 100x. I had previously used StumbleUpon before, and I was NOT getting this kind of traffic increase before. It must mean that StumbleUpon has really become a better system.

Now take all this advice with a grain of salt. You are NOT going to make sales with StumbleUpon traffic. These visitors are HIGHLY untargeted. Usually, when I’m just around stumbling with the toolbar, I see maybe 1/10 websites that really catches my eye and gets bookmarked in del.icio.us. The other sites I just quickly stumble away.

What you will get is more exposure and filling up your website statistics. It then becomes quite a bit easier to sell ads once you can prove that you’re getting quite a bit of unique visitors. Other than that, I see very little point in the stumbleUpon traffic. Upon second look, it seems most of the Stumblers are averaging 5 seconds on my sites as well.

Still, StumbleUpon is definitely a great way to get traffic. You do need to get other people to “stumble” your website. The best place I’ve found is DigitalPoint forums “freebie section.
